Frequently Asked Questions

Are your dogs vaccinated? Yes. All dogs are up to date with age appropriate vaccines.
What are the adoption fees? Puppies (less than 6 months old) are $395. Adults (6 months to 8 years) $350. Seniors (8 years and up) $295.
What does the adoption fee cover? Believe it or not, but our adoption fees do not cover the full cost of rescuing your dog. We depend on fundraisers and donations to keep adoption fee fees low. Your adoption fee typically covers half the cost of rescuing your dog.
Do you accept out of state applications? Yes, as long as you can come to Raleigh for the adoption. Please note when adopting an adult dog all current dogs must be brought to meet the foster to ensure compatibility.
Can I surrender a dog to you? We can only accept dogs we have the space and funding for. As a new rescue, we are focusing on puppies and small dogs, but hope to expand to larger dogs in the future.
Why is adoption so dang hard?! We ask a ton of questions because we want to avoid returns, as they are stressful for both the adopter and the dog. Shelters are unable to screen applicants as thoroughly and can have return rates as high as 20%. We aim to keep our return rates below 5%.
Are your dogs spayed/neutered? Yes. Adult dogs will be spayed/neutered before adoption. Puppies will not be altered until they reach 4-6 months old. This is for their health and safety. You may adopt a puppy from us that is not altered. You will be required to reach back out when your puppy is of age so we can schedule the procedure and cover the costs.
